What Day Are We On???

I'll jump right into it and just say that this moving experience has been wonderful because of the awesome friends that I have but so very sucky because it consisted of...moving.  The next time I move, please convince me to get movers.  I'm done.  At least until I forget what this was like.

Some things I've learned...

1. Stretch before spending an entire day of lifting and carrying heavy boxes up and down stairs.  For someone who finds stretching to be a vital part of every day, I sure dropped the ball here.  My calf muscles feel like they're going to pop right off of my legs right now.  I tried stretching a little yesterday, but it's like they were yelling at me, "It's too late!  It's too late!"

2. Just because you're moving and stressed doesn't mean you need to drink a lot.  This one I only really noticed last night.  I'm not necessarily an emotional drinker.  However, apparently being overly tired and hearing unpleasant things brings about a good number of tears.  I can totally do without that for awhile.  I'll stick with my happy, drowsy drinking.

3. Do not set beer and wine on your living room floor.  Enough said...

4. When you say you're going to do something, do it.  I have a tendency to try to please everyone, when what I should probably do is simply please who I want to please.

5. When D, Big D and I get together, our usually witty banter turns into a slew of uncensored sexual innuendos.  What, are we 12?  Maybe our day called for it; I don't know.

6. Though I've said it a million times, Kristen's laugh is the most contagious laugh EVER!  I don't think I've ever been able to resist.  But it's not the best thing to have happen when you have a large, heavy box in your arms.

7. Liz is the most efficient individual I have ever met.  I'd probably still be attempting to move boxes today if it weren't for her pushing me to get it all done the other day.  And it even happened with us trading the baby back and forth.  That's some skill.

8. Wearing rings, even just one, is not advisable during moving.  I almost had mine ripped off my finger, taking my finger with it.  Today?  Leaving it at home.

9. I cook awesome steak.

10. I want this to be over.

  1. Um, you are always an emotional drinker. We still love you for it. It is cute. Those steaks were great. You got a lot done a nd should be proud. I hope you enjoy your new place and your new neighboor.

  2. Oh come on...not always. Though it does happen a great deal, I guess. And I certainly do enjoy my new place and even more so, my new neighbor. :)
